Zavora Project | Oceans Aware Educational Project

Project Overview

Zavora is a remote beach located in Inhambane Province, Mozambique, where two main education projects.

At the Zavora Lodge, adults and children learn about the mystery and beauty of the Zavora’s marine life.

The program operates for six weeks, and then concludes with the production of a DVD showing what the children did and learned on the Zavora project, which they can then share with friends and family.

For the children attending the Zavora project, this is a magical experience since in Zavora there is very little electricity and most of them have never seen their image in a tv before. Both projects aim to raise environmental awareness and love for the marine ecosystem, and we believe that a combination of passion and knowledge is a key for marine conservation.

The projects are kindly supported by PADI Project AWARE and Idea Wild.
