Meet the Sharks: Mossel Bay
“Meet the Sharks” is a unique multi-dimensional educational experience providing underprivileged students with the exclusive opportunity to explore the marine environment in a way no other program has done before.
Meet the sharks: Outreach
After the immediate impact of 'Meet the Sharks', we developed a supplemental program where educators travel weekly to schools around the Garden Route, presenting educational activities aimed with thee same objective of Meet the Sharks.
University and Group Lectures
Oceans Aware organises a variety of programmes focusing on increasing the public’s understanding of sharks through education and awareness, offering both a theoretical and practical insight which may be customized for groups of all ages
Pinnacle Island
Currently in development, Pinnacle Island represents Oceans Aware's premier attempt at developing a high quality, interactive web based educational package, combining beautiful graphics with vital information about the marine world.
Mossel Bay Street Kids
Oceans Aware, in partnership with Mossel Bay based organisations such as the Agape Children Shelter and other locals businesses, organises monthly activity days and meals for the for Mossel Bay’s street children.
The Shark Lab
Based in the coastal town of Mossel Bay, The Shark Lab is designed to be an intimate aquarium, where guests are welcomed and given personal tours through the facilities tanks, research experiments and educational work.
Beyond Blue Magazine
Beyond Blue is a free online magazine dedicated to communicating current and controversial marine news and research to an international readership of scientists, explorers, students, divers, conservationists, and to the general public in a way no one has done before.
